A tractor mower would mow the whole area at once. However, that is end of the biota of the grass.
Maintenance of the biotope provided by animals varies both in the space and time; they do not graze everything at once, they create a mosaic. Some parts of meadows end overgrazed, some parts are not grazed completely, somewhere the animals graze the pastureland down to the bare ground with creating suitable conditions for a plenty of species of solitary bees. As compared to honeybees, solitary bees belong to the most endangered species of pollinators.
The animals allow the original species to come back to the countryside. They suppress the invasive species that have also spread on the banks of the Danube and Morava rivers. Spreading of Canadian goldenrod is very efficient, and the plant can push the original flora out of the territory.
Droppings are another important element brought by the animals back to the countryside. Droppings are important for many species of insects which several species of birds depend on. Thanks to pasture, the cycle that had been working in nature for thousands of years can be recovered.
