Pocta slobode – TRIBUTE TO FREEDOM

„Podujatie je neoddeliteľnou súčasťou kultúrneho a spoločenského leta v Bratislavskom regióne. Každoročne ho navštevujú nielen obyvatelia kraja a Bratislavy, ale za umeleckým zážitkom sem prichádzajú ľudia z celého Slovenska. Koncert je pripomienkou výročia okupácie Československa vojskami Varšavskej zmluvy, 80. výročia SNP a výročia pádu Železnej opony. Symbolicky sa každoročne usporadúva práve na hrade Devín, ktorý sa postupne stáva pamätným miestom pre demokraticky zmýšľajúcich občanov Slovenska,“ povedal predseda Bratislavského samosprávneho kraja Juraj Droba, ktorý nad podujatím prevzal spolu s primátorom Bratislavy Matúšom Vallom záštitu.

A special concert in a special place.

Also this year, the extraordinary voices of three Slovak artists – Jana Kirschner, Katarína Knechtová, and Simi Magušinová – will resonate at Devín Castle during the already traditional Tribute to Freedom event. „The event is an integral part of the Cultural and social summer in the Bratislava region. Every year, it is visited not only by residents of the region, and Bratislava, but people from all over Slovakia come here for an artistic experience. The concert is a reminder of the anniversary of the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw Pact troops, the 80th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP), and the anniversary of the collapse of the Iron Curtain. It is symbolically organized every year at Devín Castle, which is gradually becoming a memorial place for democratically-minded citizens of Slovakia,“ said the chairman of the Bratislava self-governing region, Juraj Droba, who took over the patronage of the event together with the mayor of Bratislava, Matúš Vallo.

Since 2010, several significant performers have taken turns on the castle stage, such as Sinéad O’Connor, Eric Burdon and the band Animals, the band Electric Light Orchestra, but also Olympic, Hex, Vidiek, Prúdy, Vladimír Mišík and E.t.c…, David Koller, Richard Muller, Sima Martausová, Lenka Filipová, Szidi Tobias, Anetta Langerová, Vlasta Redl, Janko Lehotský, Peter Lipa, Milan Lasica, Jiří Suchý, Stanislav Štepka, Tomáš Klus, Billy Barman and many others.
